Between 1996 and 2000, Mr. Gomes participated in the development of large-scale frame relay and asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) telecommunications network management systems at Sprint Corporation (Overland Park, KS) and Fujitsu Network Communications (Raleigh, NC). Prior to Sprint, in 1995, he worked as a programmer analyst in the medical device interface group of Cerner Corporation (Kansas City, MO). Rubens was also a student mainframe programmer at the University of Kansas Computer Center from 1993 to 1995.
In Brazil (2001-2006), Mr. Gomes worked as a systems manager in the Network Management Systems group of Diveo Broadband Networks, and a project manager consultant at T-Systems in Sao Paulo. Rubens also worked as a senior software developer at EDS in Rio de Janeiro.
After returning to the United States in July of 2006, he worked as a senior consultant at American Airlines in Fort Worth, TX. And in 2007-2009, he held a senior software developer position at Handango in Irving, TX.
Rubens Gomes is currently working as an IT Solutions Architect at Oi/Telemar - Tele Norte Leste Participacoes S.A. (TNE) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Oi/Telemar is the leading provider of telecommunication services in Brazil, and South America’s largest fixed telephony company in total number of lines in service. At Oi, Rubens participates in the analysis and design of IT applications architecture making use of the company SOA reference architecture.
Rubens has also developed EZLista.com an online address book for computer and smartphone.
Mr. Gomes received the B.S. in Computer Engineering, and M.S. in Electrical Engineering degrees from the University of Kansas in 1993, and 1996, respectively.
